Cancellation Policy
I understand that life happens. Plans change, people get sick, work runs late, and unexpected situations arise. I don’t expect perfection, only respectful communication.
Deposits & Advance Payment
Some bookings require a deposit, while others may require payment in full before the appointment. This will always be discussed and agreed upon before your booking is confirmed.
Any payment made reserves your appointment exclusively for you and compensates me for keeping that time unavailable to other clients.
My standard deposit is between $200 and $500, with larger deposits required for travel, extended bookings, or multi-day bookings. Deposits are non-refundable.
Rescheduling
If you need to change your booking, please let me know as soon as possible.
Whenever practical, I’m happy to transfer your deposit or advance payment to a new booking. Whether this is possible will depend on the impact the change has on me and isn’t guaranteed.
The more notice you provide, the more flexibility I’m usually able to offer. I also take into account factors such as the length of your original booking, how soon the new booking will take place, whether I’m likely to refill the original timeslot, and your previous booking history.
For example, moving a 30-minute weekday booking to the following day may have very little impact. Rescheduling a five-hour booking several weeks into the future may have a significant impact, even if plenty of notice is provided.
My goal is always to find a fair solution that respects both your circumstances and the time I’ve reserved especially for you.
Cancellations
An occasional cancellation is rarely an issue.
However, your booking history will be taken into account when determining the terms of future bookings. If cancellations become a pattern, I may increase the amount required to reserve future appointments. Rather than declining future bookings altogether, I will usually ask for a larger deposit or, in some cases, payment in full before confirming the booking.
This isn’t intended as a punishment. It’s simply a way of ensuring that the financial risk of repeated cancellations sits with the person creating that risk, rather than with me.
I have a number of long-term clients who book under these arrangements. They know there’s a genuine chance they’ll need to cancel due to work, family or other commitments, but still value having time reserved together. By paying a larger deposit or the full booking fee in advance, they’re able to continue booking with confidence, while I can reserve that time without repeatedly bearing the cost of cancelled appointments.
I completely understand if these arrangements don’t suit you. In that case, I recommend booking at shorter notice instead. I regularly post short-notice availability on Telegram and Bluesky, and my Availability page always reflects my current schedule.
No-Shows
If you fail to arrive for your booking, or stop communicating after your appointment has been confirmed, any deposit or advance payment will be forfeited.
Repeated no-shows or consistently unreliable booking behaviour may result in future booking requests being declined or requiring payment in full before a booking will be accepted.
If I Need to Cancel
Although it is rare, I may occasionally need to reschedule due to illness, family emergencies, travel disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
If this happens, you will always be offered the choice of:
- Transferring your payment to another mutually convenient date, or
- Receiving a full refund of any payment already made.
Running Late
If you’re running behind, please send me a quick message on 0435 349 800.
I’ll always do my best to accommodate reasonable delays. However, depending on my schedule, your session may still need to finish at the originally agreed time so that I can honour my other commitments.
Kindness Goes Both Ways
My goal is never to punish people for being human. Clear communication and mutual respect solve almost every situation.
If something unexpected comes up, simply let me know. I’ll always do my best to find a fair solution that respects both your circumstances and the time I’ve reserved especially for you.
